With Spring behind us and summer about to hang itself up for another seasonal year, we are now facing Autumn. A time when we remember the smell and purchase of new school supplies. For each student the expectation is a little nerve racking.I remember one such year - a year to remember - a year to give thanks for - a year to give praise to God for such a caring teacher, Mrs. Seibert.s

Our 2010 Daily Lily Retreat, Designs of One’s Heart, was an amazing experience. Sara did a beautiful job teaching, showing and instructing her Lilies how to design their hearts. We all worked very hard each day to grasp what Sara was teaching. Needles did a beautiful job instructing us about how the human heart works. Debi and MG were amazing playing their guitar and piano. Rena was amazing. She fixed the toilet, the lawnmower and she prayed a powerful prayer over me using her beautiful intercessory gift. Each lily played a vital role in this life changing retreat. Each lily opened their minds and hearts to the Holy Spirit and amazing knowledge and wisdom fell from their lips. The fragrance of the words brought joy to my mind, heart and spirit. One particular day of our retreat, Sara spoke to us about the Garden of Renown. For homework we were to write about our Garden’s. As I was studying this homework assignment, the Lord placed something on my heart that I would like to share…

Lord God its Independence Day
We give you thanks for the men and women
Who fought so this nation would be free
And with life’s blood split
They gave so that we might
Be embraced by freedom
A freedom that allows us to
Worship here today as we wish
We thank you mighty Lord for this!

Last weekend I attended the 125th Reunion of Maurertown Brethern Church which is my childhood church. So many memories of Sunday School, Christmas performances, memorization of Bible scripture, gathering flowers for the altar, baptisms and revival services. So many have gone to heaven who made the church grow and were pillars (rocks). Dr. Fred Finks of Ashland Theological Seminary spoke about those memories and tied it into the remembrances of the people of the second crossing of the Jordan into the promise land mentioned in Joshua 4: 19-24 NIV

Tomorrow is a mystery;
yesterday has passed;
Today is fresh and new;
I’ll try to make it last;
I’ll lend an ear to problems;
that other people have;
I’ll show a bit of kindness;
and give instead of grab;

Though the clouds may be gray outside my window; I feel so sunny inside; I have been doing a whole lot of thinking; It has made me realize; life is what we make it; We’re happy if we want to be; The doors that we open can all be good ones; we ALL have the Masters Key; So, look through the clouds, the sun is still there; Jump over the rocks that you see; Keep a smile on your face and love in your heart; Hold tight to the Masters Key. Shadows sleep in silence; Trees bow their heads; Breezes slide through darkness; Stars whisper in cloudy beds; Waters ripple quietly; Vast Oceans to tiny streams; Mountains stand attention; Clouds move slowly, making dreams; Tiny blades of grass are born; Caressed by beads of dew; Awaiting morning sunlight; Enhanced by skies of blue; Rosebuds in infancy smile

THE FARAWAY LOOK IN THE EYES OF THE OLD; IS FULL OF WISDOM; THINGS WE DON’T KNOW; THEY HAVE SHED MANY TEARS; THEY’VE CRINKLED IN SMILES; THEY HAVE SEEN BUMPY ROADS; AND MANY SMOOTH MILES; NO BOOKS CAN HOLD THE WISDOM THEY KNOW;

The stadium of life
Played out each day
Brings death to some and life to others
Both physical, emotional, and spiritual
Each person comes
Either presenting a mask so no one can see the true heart
