A Bird’s Eye View

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

In the heart of the Garden of Gethsemane a flock of birds nestled in the trees. They were hidden from view. They were constantly ease dropping on those walking about below. They heard every conversation and felt each attitude.

One evening they saw a small group of men enter the garden. They knew one of them for He was known as the Son of God. They then saw others coming into the garden. They were soldiers. What were they doing here? The soldiers walked up to Jesus and took him away. “Where were they taking Jesus?”

Under The Hand of Jesus

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Several years ago I wrote a book (waiting to be published) entitled Under the Hand of Jesus. Debi of thedailylily.com did the watercolor drawings. In the story you might find yourself identifying with the main character, Leon. There seemed to be a cloud over his life. He couldn’t see past the cloud. One day someone helped him find the one who could truly help. The helper/mentor helped the main character understand that he needed Doctor Jesus because his heart was too full of hurtful things from the world. They were making him sick.

Robert J. Morgan…

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

This is a quote from Robert J. Morgan’s book RED SEA RULES:
At the Red Sea, God put His people in a position where His presence had never been so real to them. Using difficulty, He cultivated within them a greater appreciation of Himself than ever before. As one commentator put it, ‘God’s presence in the trial is much better than EXEMPTION from the trial. The Lord’s presence is never so sweet as in moments of appalling difficulty.”

Mirror, Mirror

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

“Mirror, mirror of my mind who is the prettiest woman in this land.” (Have we heard this tale before?)
Oh my dear said the Mirror, “You are ugly as ugly can be.”
“Oh,” cried the woman, “I must be perfect. I must look young. I must do something about this terrible mess called me.”
“I’ll straighten my hair, fix my eyes, throw out my old clothes, and fix my jaw line, buy a new house.” Why does everyone look better than me she thought?

Rooster Choice

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Nestled among the hills of Virginia was a seemingly quiet farm or at least it use to be before an arrogant rooster appeared one day. From the unusually quiet farmyard came a squawking that had not been heard before. All eyes searched the yard to see who was making all that commotion. A rooster standing proud, making himself seem ridiculous but yet noticed nevertheless. Did he not know the only job he had to do was to go cock-a-doodle do in the morning to wake up the barn creatures and welcome them to a new day – a new day given to them by God

Consistency

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

In my Beth Moore lesson, DANIEL, it says godliness is never accidental. Neither is victory coincidental. Both stem from up-front, daily resolve.

Alice Adventures in Wonderland-Chapter XII

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Remember that when we left Alice last time she was in court where there was a trial going on over stolen tarts. By now Alice is growing so large that she upset s the jury box with her skirt as she stands up. The trial finally proceeds after this upset and when asked by the King what she knows she replies, ‘Nothing whatever.’

In response to Alice’s large size, the king declares, “Rule 42 …All persons more than a mile high to leave the court!” Alice retorts that she is not a mile high and that it’s not a regular rule and that the king invented it just now. To this brash comment the king replies, ‘It’s the oldest rule in the book.’ Alice is undaunted in her defense and firmly states, “Than it ought to be #1.” (Sounds like he is making up the rules as he goes? Is that legitimate?)
